United Sates Navy (USN) Grumman C-2A Greyhound Carrier Onboard Delivery (COD) Aircraft Depart Rockhampton Airport on Wednesday

Rockhampton Aero Club Secretary Paul T has sent through some fantastic images he captured at Rockhampton Airport on Wednesday 7 August as the resident pair of United States Navy (USN) Grumman C-2A Greyhound Carrier Onboard Delivery (COD) Aircraft departed Rockhampton for Port Moresby after the completion of Military Exercise Talisman Saber 2013.

The CODs - flown by the Fleet Logistics Support Squadron 30 (VRC-30 Detachment 5) - departed in quick succession with 162152 / NF-32 departing as “Password 32” and 162175 / NF-33 departing as “Password 33”.  Such a lovely pair of aircraft, it was a really treat to see them during my recent trip to Rockhampton.

Paul also sent through a couple photos of the broken down United States Air Force (USAF) Boeing C-17A Globemaster III 90-0533, which remains parked on Gate 6 on the Southern end of the Rockhampton Airport apron.

Word is the C-17 needs to move from its parking position to allow a rumoured arrival of a USAF Lockheed C-5 Galaxy freight aircraft to collect the four United States Navy (USN) Sikorsky HH-60H Seahawk helicopters which are all packed up and ready to be freighted out of Rockhampton airport.

Lastly, while Paul was near Gate 6, the frequently visiting Queensland Police Service (Airwing) Raytheon B1900D VH-PSK popped into Rockhampton from Mackay during yet another busy day of flying.

We sincerely thank Paul for sending through his fantastic photos from Rockhampton Airport.  As mentioned, Paul is the secretary of the Rockhampton Aero Club.
