With the Federal Election campaign in full swing, Gladstone Airport has played host to a pair of Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Canadair CL-600-2B16 Challenger 604 bizjets this week. While A37-002 was noted visiting the port city briefly on Monday 19 August, Jamie C has sent through some fantastic photos taken by his daughter Kyresha C of fellow RAAF Challenger 604 A37-001 as it visited Gladstone Airport on Wednesday 21 August.
A37-001 was noted departing to the North as "Envoy 45".
Meanwhile, a couple of nice helicopters were also spotted by Jamie C on Wednesday 21 August, with Aerospatiale AS.350BA Squirrel of Professional Helicopter Services in Melbourne spotted departing to the South.
And Roma-based M. I. Helicopters Bell 206L-3 VH-NKW was also photographed as it departed Gladstone to parts unknown.
Jamie has also sent through some magnificent photos taken at Gladstone Airport during the early part of the week. On Tuesday 20 August, after a very foggy start to the day in the port city, Virgin Australia sent Boeing B737-700 VH-VBV to Gladstone, arriving from Brisbane as VOZ1711. It is pictured departing back to Brisbane as VOZ1714.
QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200 VH-NXI was also captured by Jamie on Tuesday 20 August as it departed Gladstone also for Brisbane but as QJE1709.
Jamie also captured some stunning images of Virgin Australia Regional Airlines ATR 72-500 VH-FVI as it too departed Gladstone Airport for Brisbane as VOZ1720 on Tuesday 20 August.
Finally, Jamie also sends through some more images of the two Skytrans Airlines Dash-8-300s - VH-QQM and VH-QQN - which arrived into Gladstone Airport last Wednesday 14 August.
As we posted last week, both VH-QQM and VH-QQN stayed at Gladstone Airport overnight and were also photographed by Jamie as they departed back to Brisbane on Thursday 15 August.
Sincere thanks to Jamie - and Kyresha - for capturing and sending through such wonderful images from Gladstone Airport over this past week!
