A37-002 - flying as "Envoy 60" - was in the rum city, to bring Shadow Treasurer Joe Hockey to campaign for the forthcoming Federal Election.
Meanwhile, in Micah's words, he was escorted airside through the terminal and was very excited as he approached the aircraft and climbed the stairs. The forward section of the aircraft contains a galley, and then he was invited into the flightdeck, where the crew spoke of their day which began in Townsville, before making the one hour flight to Bundaberg, and then later continuing to Sydney.
The passenger cabin was of course a very comfortable space for the guests. A37-002 has a fairly standard interior for a Challenger type business jet with a club four seating arrangement at the front, and a three place divan facing another two seats in the rear. There was of course a lavatory which appeared to be well appointed with a selection of lotions and soaps available, and a supply of neatly rolled face towels. Beyond the lavatory was the baggage compartment which can be accessed in flight. There was a monitor on the forward starboard bulkhead which was displaying flight information at the time. There was also a fruit platter on one of the executive tables along with an assortment of chocolate bars. The crew attendant went on to explain that a full silver service can be provided on board.
Micah would sincerely like to thank the to the flight crew from the RAAF's VIP 34 Squadron for welcoming him onboard in their own time, and for allowing him to inspect an aircraft which is not usually open to the public.
