The first military visitor into Central Queensland for 2019 came on Saturday 5 January when Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Canadair CL-600-2B16 Challenger 604 bizjet A37-002 called into Bundaberg Airport.

It looked to touched down at Bundy from Wagga Wagga after it flew there from Canberra via Sydney the previous day.

The RAAF Challenger is believed to have brought dignities to town to attend the funeral of former Federal Member for Hinkler Paul Neville, who sadly passed away last week.  Mr Neville was the Member for Hinkler from 1993-2013, making him one of the longest-serving parliamentarians in the Wide Bay.

After some time on the ground, A37-002 departed Bundaberg Airport to Brisbane.  A37-002 was noted using the radio callsign of "Regent 61".

Redjet Aviation Piper PA-31 Navajo VH-PJU was also noted visiting Bundaberg Airport also on Saturday 5 January, arriving from and departing back to Archerfield.
