It had flown up to Townsville the previous day and looked to depart there on Thursday to meet and support some RAAF McDonnell Douglas F/A-18A/B Classic Hornets which were deploying to RAAF Base Tindal.  A39-005 then flew across from around the Longreach area to land at Rockhampton Airport.

After reprograming A39-005 departed to RAAF Base Amberley.

Of interest, A39-005 was heard to be flying as "Dragon 54".
