Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Airbus A330-203 / KC-30A (MRTT) A39-005 Missed Approach at Mackay and Rockhampton Airports

On Wednesday 16 December, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Airbus A330-200 / KC-30A Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) A39-005 was spotted climbing out after it completed a missed approach at Mackay Airport.

It was heard to be flying as "Dragon 62" and came up from RAAF Base Amberley direct to Mackay Airport before continuing up to Cairns where it also completed a missed approach.

A39-005 then returned South to complete a missed approach at Rockhampton Airport before then returning to Amberley via what looked to be an air-to-air refuelling exercise off the South-East Queensland coast with RAAF Boeing C-17A Globemaster III A41-213 "Stallion 36".
