Another Pair of Australian Army Helicopters Pass Through CQ Airports Heading South to NSW Flood Crisis - MRH-90 A40-023 and AW139 VH-YBG

On Friday 4 March, Australian Army NH Industries MRH-90 Multi-Role Helicopter A40-023 was noted calling into to Rockhampton Airport after flying down from Townsville as "Destrier 121".

After taking on fuel, A40-023 continued from Rocky to the Oakey Army Aviation Centre.

It is believed that the MRH-90 will join other Australian Army helicopters in relief efforts in Northern New South Wales as the clean up starts after some significant flooding in the area.

Meanwhile, also flying South on Friday 4 March, also seemingly heading South to also assist with the relief efforts was  Australian Army marked (Helicorp) Leonardo S.P.A. Helicopters (Agusta) AW139 Helicopter VH-YBG.  It called into Emerald Airport from Townsville and later departed also to Oakey.

VH-YBG was using the radio callsign of "Halo 201".

Finally, also on Friday 4 March, it's worth noting that Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Alenia C-27J Spartan transport aircraft A34-006 "Wallaby 54" flew up from RAAF Base Amberley to complete airwork at Bundaberg Airport.  It then returned to Amberley.
