Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Airbus A330-203 / KC-30A (MRTT) A39-005 "Gasser 70" Missed Approach at Rockhampton Airport - Plus More!

On Friday 11 March, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Airbus A330-200 / KC-30A Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) A39-005 was photographed as it completed a missed approach at Rockhampton Airport.

A39-005 was flying as "Gasser 70" and looked to fly out from RAAF Base Amberley and operate with another RAAF KC-30A MRTT A39-003 "Gasser 66" before it then flew up to Rockhampton Airport where it completed a missed approach.  A39-005 "Gasser 70" then continued up to land at Townsville.

A39-003 "Gasser 66" flew up to the North-West before then turning back and returning to Amberley.

Meanwhile, also on Friday 11 March, Australian Army marked (Helicorp) Leonardo S.P.A. Helicopters (Agusta) AW139 Helicopter VH-YBF flew up from Gallipolli Barracks at Enoggera in Brisbane to land at Bundaberg and Mackay Airports before it then continued up to Townsville.  It flew as "Angel 235" and "Angel 201" during its transit.

It seems to be returning back to its Townsville base after spending time deployed to the Oakey Army Aviation Centre where it operated several flights around South-East Queensland and Northern New South Wales as a part of Operation Flood Assist 2022 .

VH-YBF had flown South from Townsville to Oakey via Rockhampton Airport on Monday 28 February.

Sincere thanks to local plane spotter Scott H for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos!
