Exercise Wallaby 2016 - RSAF Boeing F-15SG "Shikra" Strike Eagles to Depart Rockhampton Airport for good on Monday

It is expected that on Monday 3 October, the six Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Boeing F-15SG “Shikra” Strike Eagles of 149 Squadron out of Paya Lebar Air Base will depart Rockhampton Airport for good after the completion of their deployment as a part of the Singapore Armed Force's Exercise Wallaby 2016.

Current information suggests that they will depart Rocky for Darwin around 9am on Monday.

Since arriving in Rockhampton just over a fortnight ago (as shown below), the F-15SGs  - serials 8310, 8323, 8328, 8332, 8326 and 8327 - have proven to be extremely popular with aviation enthusiasts and the general public alike, operating 2-3 sorties almost each day from Rockhampton Airport to the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA) and back.

Their final sorties from Rockhampton Airport were flown on Thursday 29 September

It is worth noting too that the RSAF F-15SGs have had a long deployment to Australia with these six plus two more Strike Eagles initially deploying to the Northern Territory in August and participating in the Royal Australian Air Force's Exercise Pitch Black 2016.  Following this, the six F-15s that deployed to Rocky spent some time at RAAF Base Amberley where they trained alongside RAAF F/A-18F Super Hornets before eventually flying to Rockhampton for Exercise Wallaby 2016.

Again, our sincere thanks to the local plane spotters and other photographers for their kind and valuable assistance in providing an unparalleled coverage of the RSAF F-15SG 'Shikra' Strike Eagles deployment to Rockhampton as a part of Exercise Wallaby 2016.
