Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) British Aerospace (BAe) Hawk 127 Jets Call into Rockhampton Airport Heading to Townsville

A nice surprise pair of arrivals into Rockhampton Airport on Thursday 13 October with two Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) British Aerospace (BAe) Hawk 127 jet training aircraft calling in for fuel while flying from Newcastle (Williamtown) to Townsville.

The two Hawks were identified as A27-17 and A27-33 and were heard to be using radio callsigns of "Cougar 11" and Cougar 12" respectively.

After taking on fuel, both Hawks departed Rocky for Townsville where they are likely to be participating in the T150 Defence Force Air Display and Open Day this weekend.

Sincere thanks to local plane spotters 'IAD' and Scott H who were at the right place at the right time to capture these great photos!
