Exercise Wallaby 2016 - RSAF Lockheed C-130H Hercules Transport Aircraft '734' & '731' Come and Go from Rockhampton Airport

On Saturday 1 October, Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Lockheed C-130H Hercules '734' arrived at Rockhampton Airport as "SAF9667" from Darwin.

I suspect that with the RSAF Boeing F-15SG 'Shikra' Strike Eagles finishing their flying program, the visit by the Herc is to collect support equipment which is to be transported back to Singapore.  '734' was parked on the Rockhampton Airport apron next to fellow RSAF C-130H Hercules '733', which is currently deployed to Rocky and operating local flights in support of the Singapore Armed Force's Exercise Wallaby 2016.

After spending the night, '734' returned to Darwin early on Sunday 2 October again flying as "SAF9667".

Then, later on Sunday 2 October, another RSAF Lockheed C-130H Hercules '731' also touched down at Rockhampton Airport, also flying direct from Darwin, but as "SAF9668".  It too is possibly visiting Rocky to transport support equipment for the F-15s back to Singapore and also looks to be spending the night.

It is anticipated that during the early to mid morning on Monday 3 October, the six RSAF F-15SGs will depart Rockhampton Airport on the first part of their journey home to Singapore.

They will be missed!

Sincere thanks to local plane spotter 'IAD' for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos!
