Emerald Airport saw a couple of interesting Alliance Airlines fly-in fly-out (FIFO) charters on Thursday 19 January, with some different 'registrations' of the Fokker F-100s operating the flights.
Firstly, Alliance Airlines' newest F-100 VH-XWP paid a visit departing as UTY7657 to Brisbane. F-100 VH-XWQ also paid a visit to Emerald from Brisbane and return as UTY7656/2241
On Friday 20 January, I popped into Emerald Airport early (on the way to the dentist!), and watched the morning RPT movements with Dash-8-Q400 VH-QOP operating as QLK2400/2401.
Meanwhile, Skywest Airlines operated ATR 72-500, VH-FVH, operated the DJ1255/1256 service from and back to Brisbane for Virgin Australia.
Also at Emerald Airport, I spotted most of the Advance Aviation fleet of Piper PA-31 Navajos. One other Navajo was PA-31P VH-SGA, which is operated by an aerial survey company in New South Wales, but has been noted quite a lot recently in Central Queensland.
Much later in the day, I popped into Clermont Aerodrome where South Australian based Cessna 210 VH-LOG had just arrived.
On the apron, I found Skytrans Dash-8-Q300 VH-QQN preparing for departure to Brisbane on a FIFO charter. This was one of as many as six FIFO flights that Skytrans operated out of Clermont on Friday.
