More Fantastic Photos of United States Air Force (USAF) Lockheed C-5B Galaxy 86-0018 at Rockhampton Airport Saturday

Local plane spotter Ben O has sent through some photos from what he has described as possibly his most enjoyable day of plane spotting ever on Saturday 10 August.  He was on hand at Rockhampton Airport for most of the day to capture some spectacular photos of the visiting United States Air Force (USAF) Lockheed C-5B Galaxy serial 86-0018.

Ben especially enjoyed the 'show' when the C-5's massive front cargo door was raised and two of the four visiting United States Nave (USN) Sikorsky HH-60H Seahawk helicopters were loaded for transport back to the United States of America.

Ben stayed long enough - and had enough light during the evening - to capture the Galaxy being closed up and then refuelled.

Sources indicate that 86-0018 was later loaded with several dozen troops before it departed Rockhampton Airport as "Reach 304" for Hickam Air Force Base in Honolulu, Hawaii.

What a truly spectacular day!

Thanks to Ben O for sharing with us his fantastic photos!
