United States Marine Corps (USMC) Bell Boeing MV-22B Ospreys Return to Rockhampton Airport

Just when we thought all the military aircraft action was finished!  Over the last couple of days, United States Marine Corps (USMC) Bell Boeing MV-22B Osprey tilt-rotar aircraft have popped into Rockhampton Airport.

On Friday 23 August, Ospreys 168217 / EP-01 and 168031 / EP-08 touched down at Rockhampton Airport during the afternoon.  168031 / EP-08 later departed to Cairns, where it was captured arriving by the Far North Queensland Skies Blog.

168217 / EP-01 remained at Rockhampton Airport for the night and it was believed to have broken down.

On Saturday 24 August, local plane spotter Ash B ventured to Rockhampton Airport and captured a photo of 168217 / EP-01 as remained parked on the Northern end of the Rockhampton Airport apron.

And while he was there, fellow USMC MV-22B Osprey 168032 / EP-09 - also of the Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265 (VMM-265) "Dragons" - arrived into Rockhampton from Cairns as "Dragon 02"

At the time of writing, it is believed that both Ospreys remain parked at Rockhampton Airport.

My sincere thanks to Ash for being at Rockhampton Airport and sending through his fantastic photos of some truly fantastic aircraft!
