Rockhampton Airport Friday Afternoon - Omni B767 Departs and USMC KC-130J Hercules Arrives

Omni Air International Boeing B767-319(ER) N387AX departed Rockhampton Airport late on Friday 16 August for Kadena Air Force Base in Japan as "OAE 558".

Local plane spotters Don W and Tavis W captured some more lovely images of the B767 parked on Gate 6 on the Southern end of the Rockhampton Airport apron.

Meanwhile, a great surprise for local spotters, and captured by Travis W late on Friday 16 August, was United States Marine Corps (USMC) Lockheed KC-130J 167109 (Tail Code QD-7109) of the Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 152 (VMGR-152). which is shown parked on the Northern end of the Rockhampton Airport apron.

Also parked on the Northern end of the apron was Surveillance Australia / Australian Customs and Border Protection Service (Cobham Aviation) Dash-8-202 VH-ZZC.

A great afternoon of surprises and we thank Don and Travis sincerely for catch some of the action!
