Much to my surprise, a quick search online has showed that over the last week or so a pair of Hinterland Aviation charters have touched down at Barcaldine Aerodrome.
On Thursday 31 January, Hinterland's Beech B200 King Air VH-HLJ (file photo below) touched down from Cairns as HND760. It later departed to Townsville using the same callsign.
On Tuesday 5 February, Hinterland's Cessna 208 Caravan VH-TFS touched down at Barcaldine from Townsville as HND626. It later departed to Cairns using the same callsign.
I am unsure if these were the first ever visits by Hinterland Aviation aircraft into Barcaldine, but never-the-less, it is exciting to see a new charter operations commence in CQ!
Incidentally, JetGo Australia Embraer E-135LR VH-JGB was noted recently operating the company's regular Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) charter flights to Barcaldine Aerodrome from Brisbane as well.
These FIFO charters run semi-regularly on a Tuesday and Friday, with VH-JGB noted at Barcaldine in the early hours of the morning on Friday 1 February and again on Tuesday 5 February.
