Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Airbus A330-203 / KC-30A (MRTT) A39-005 Missed Approach at Rockhampton Airport

Another day, another visit at Rockhampton Airport by a RAAF KC-30A MRTT!!

On Thursday 9 January, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Airbus A330-203 / KC-30A Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) A39-005 was spotted completing a missed approach at Rockhampton Airport.

As with the previous visits this week, the KC-30A flew North from RAAF Base Amberley and landed at Townsville for a short period of time before flying back to Amberley via a missed approach at Rockhampton Airport.  A39-005 also flew yet again as "Dragon 10".

A39-005 actually landed at Rockhampton Airport for a short time on Tuesday 7 January and sistership A39-007 completed a missed approach at Rockhampton Airport after dark on Wednesday 8 January.  Both aircraft used the radio callsign of "Dragon 10" also on these flights - see Blog posts below!

Sincere thanks to local plane spotter Scott H for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos!
