The two Chinooks were believed to be A15-301 and A15-303, and they arrived in formation from RAAF Base Amberley as "Chainsaw".  After taking on fuel, they continued 'home' to Townsville.

Four Chinooks - flown by the Army's 5th Aviation Regiment (C Squadron) based at Townsville - remain in the Southern states, along with four Townsville-based Australian Army NH Industries MRH-90 Multi-Role Helicopters.
