A great afternoon at Mackay Airport on Monday 15 September was highlighted by the visit of Jetstar Airways Airbus A320 VH-VGF operating from and back to Brisbane as JST888/889.
VH-VGF wears a special orange colour scheme (or jaffa as has been described on other forums) celebrating Jetstar's 10 years of service in 2014. As shown, the starboard side of the fuselage features text saying 'Low fares forever', while the port side has the phrase '#jetstargeneration' to signify the generation of travellers who have taken advantage of the low fares Jetstar has brought to the Australian market.
Another visitor to Mackay late on Monday 15 September was West Wing Aviation Pilatus Britten-Norman BN2B-26 Islander VH-AEC as it returned 'home' to Cairns after completing maintenance at Archerfield.
As mentioned below, Gulf Aircraft Raytheon B300 Super King Air VH-EYN (ex-VH-PYN) arrived at Mackay Airport from Hamilton Island on Friday 12 September and remains parked on the Western General Aviation (GA) Apron.
Finally, as mentioned below, Australian Army Sikorsky S70A-9 Blackhawk helicopter A25-224 also called into Mackay Airport after dark on Monday 15 September.
Some really fantastic photos from Mackay Airport and sincere thanks to the local spotters for capturing them and sending them through!
