This Time Last Week - Stunning Photos of Antonov 124 UR-82008 and RSAF Boeing CH-47SD Chinook Helicopters

We too have been fortunate to have local plane spotter Phil M send through some stunning photos he has captured at Rockhampton Airport over the week or so - including photos from last Saturday 6 September as the Antonov Airlines (Antonov Design Bureau) AN-124-100M-150 UR-82008 touched down in the beef capital.

On this particular flight, the Antonov unloaded a pair of Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Boeing CH-47SD Chinook helicopters - identified as 88195 and 88197.  Engines were removed first, followed by the Chinooks, which were promptly towed to the Northern end of the Rocky Airport apron.  On Monday 8 September, Phil captured some fantastic photos showing the Chinooks being put back-together with their two engines re-attached to the bodies.

Late on Monday, both RSAF Chinooks had their engines re-attached.  As the week went on, the blades were added, and by the end of the week, the Chinooks looked ready to take to the air.

Sincere thanks to Phil for sending through his awesome images - I hope that you enjoy looking at them as much as I do!
