Re-painted Virgin Australia B737-800 VH-BZG Calls into Mackay Airport

As Virgin Australia aircraft continue to be re-painted into their new white livery, we continue to report on their first visits to Central Queensland Airport wearing their new colours.

On this occassion, Boeing B737-800 VH-BZG made its first visit into CQ on Wednesday 17 September, popping into Mackay Airport from Brisbane as VOZ601.  It later departed back to Brisbane as VOZ604.

Of note, VH-BZG is a rather unique aircraft and registration in the Virgin Australia (and previously Virgin Blue) fleet. It was originally intended to be registered as 'VH-VUW', however at the announcement of the retirement of the original Virgin CEO Brett Godfrey, it took up the registration of VH-BZG (Brett [&] Zahra Godfrey) in honour of the retiring Virgin CEO and his wife.

VH-BZG also wore the name "Brett's Jet" in honour of Godfrey - it has now been re-named "Vivonne Bay".
