Qantas Airways Boeing B737-800 VH-VXB 'Yananyi Dreaming' Departs Australia to be Re-painted

On Monday 8 September, Qantas Airways Boeing B737-800 VH-VXB 'Yananyi Dreaming' departed Darwin for Singapore (Seletar) Airport as QFA6019 where it will undergo planned maintenance, including re-painting into 'normal' Qantas livery.

VH-VXB was delivered to Qantas in February 2002 at Sydney Airport complete with its attractive Aboriginal Art colour scheme and named ‘Yananyi Dreaming'.

The photogenic aircraft - which has been affectionately called "Vomit Comet" or "Ya Nanny's Dreaming" - amongst other names - has operated continuously with Qantas in this scheme since 2002, and rumours have been floating around for some time that it would be re-painted into the 'new' Qantas livery.

When VH-VXB is re-painted, this leaves one remaining B737-800 to wear an Aboriginal colour scheme - VH-XZJ 'Mendoowoorrji'.

The scheme on VH-VXB will certainly be missed.
