The last few days has seen the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Lockheed C-130H Hercules transport aircraft '730' begin operating out of and back to Rockhampton Airport in support of the Singapore Armed Force's Exercise Wallaby 2017 which is now underway in the nearby Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA).
Local plane spotter Daniel B captured some great departure photos as the Herc departed Rockhampton Airport on Saturday 2 September using the radio callsign of "Rider 38". It has also been heard using the callsigns "Rider 18" and "Rider 28" as it completes as many as three sorties each day.
Of interest, the Herc is one of six C-130H aircraft which are flown by the RSAF's 122 Squadron "Condors" based at the Paya Lebar Air Base (PLAB) in Singapore.
The squadron goes by the motto of "Dependable".
Sincere thanks to Daniel for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos!
