Exercise Wallaby 2017 - Royal Brunei Airlines Boeing B787-8 Dreamliner V8-DLD Back at Rockhampton Airport

On Sunday 3 September, the first 'wave' of heavy jet passenger charters in support the Singapore Armed Force's Exercise Wallaby 2017 continued with Royal Brunei Airlines Boeing B787-8 Dreamliner V8-DLD spotted returning to Rockhampton Airport touching down once again directly from Singapore's Changi Airport as RBA4271.

Local plane spotter Daniel B was on hand and captured some great photos of the Dreamliner on short finals to Runway 15 before it later parked on Gate 6 on the Southern end of the Rockhampton Airport parking apron where it was promptly unloaded.

After a load of personnel and their bags was unloaded and the aircraft refuelled, V8-DLD departed Rockhampton Airport flying direct to Brunei International Airport but as RBA4272.

Meanwhile, Daniel also sends through some great photos from Saturday 2 September that he captured of the visiting Singapore Airlines Boeing B777-200 9V-SVF which started this first 'wave' of heavy jet passenger charter flights by calling into Rockhampton Airport from Singapore.

It too touched down directly from Changi Airport as SIA8931 before returning there a little later as SIA8932.

Information suggests that this or another Singapore Airlines Boeing B777-200 will arrive into Rockhampton Airport on Monday 4 September, along with a Qantas Airways Airbus A330.  This will see the end of the first 'wave' of heavy jet passenger charter flights.

Sincere thanks to Daniel for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos!
