Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing C-17A Globemaster III A41-209 Pops into Rockhampton Airport as "Stallion 26"

On Friday 22 September, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing C-17A Globemaster III A41-209 was spotted visiting Rockhampton Airport while seemingly completing a crew training flight.

Local plane spotters Kayanne H and Daniel B captured some great photos as the Globemaster flew into Rocky from RAAF Base Amberley via airwork around Charleville and Emerald.  It was heard to be using the radio callsign of "Stallion 26".

After eventually parking on Gate 6 on the Southern end of the Rockhampton Airport parking apron and then completing a crew change, A41-209 taxied out and departed to Townsville where it also completed airwork before landing and spending the night.

UPDATE!  On Saturday 23 September, A41-209 "Stallion 26" returned to Rockhampton Airport, touching down from Townsville.  It departed a short while later for Amberley.

Sincere thanks to Kayanne and Daniel for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos!
