On Thursday 2 November, a pair of RAAF Airbus A330-203 / KC-30A Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft both landed and completed a missed approach during the middle part of the afternoon at Rocky. A39-004 "Dragon 35" landed for a short time while A39-001 "Dragon 36" flew up from RAAF Base Amberley to Rocky and was photographed by Daniel as it completed a missed approach onto Runway 15 at Rockhampton Airport.
Soon after the sun went down, RAAF Boeing B737-7ES / E-7A Wedgetail Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) aircraft A30-003 "Wedgetail 20" flew up from the South and was also photographed by Daniel as it too completed a missed approach but onto Runway 33 at Rockhampton Airport.
Then on Friday 3 November, RAAF Airbus A330-203 / KC-30A (MRTT) A39-004 was back at Rockhampton Airport, completing a missed approach and then landing again for a short time. The KC-30A was photographed by Daniel as it departed to Amberley but as "Dragon 36".
We sincerely thank Daniel B for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos of a great week of RAAF action at Rockhampton Airport!
