Super Saturday at Bundaberg Airport - Vincent Aviation BAe 146 ZK-ECO and New Virgin Australia ATR 72-600 VH-FVY

Local plane spotters would have had a fantastic day at Bundaberg Airport on Saturday 6 April with a couple of special arrivals into the rum city, including a rare visit of a jet aircraft into this normally quiet regional airport!

One lucky local spotter, Micah S, has very kindly sent through some of his fantastic photos of some of the action from Saturday afternoon.

Vincent Avaition (New Zealand) BAe 146-200 ZK-ECO was by far the star arrival.

The 'Whisperjet' arrived from Brisbane late morning at VIN810 and was noted parked for the day on the Bundaberg Airport apron.  It departed around dusk heading back to Brisbane as VIN811.

Coincidentally, this month's CQ Plane Spotting Blog Historic Spot featured the BAe 146 / Arvo RJ jet at Central Queensland Airports - Read this special post HERE.

The other fantastic movement on Saturday 6 April was the return of Virgin Australia (Skywest Airlines) ATR 72-600 VH-FVY.

The newest ATR 72-600 for the Virgin fleet had been in Bundaberg the day before, and arrived back into Bundy from Canberra during the afternoon.

Virgin are planning to start scheduled services to Bundaberg from Brisbane on Saturday 4 May.

One other movement that Micah S noted - and just to cap things off - was the afternoon departure of QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 VH-QOC to Brisbane as QLK2325.

My sincere thanks to Micah S for his fantastic coverage of truly a great day at Bundaberg Airport!
