A Few Nice Corporate Bizjets Call into Whitsunday Airports - Including a Couple of First Visits! - Plus More!

On Sunday 3 July, there was a few corporate bizjets noted visiting the Whitsundays Airports - including a couple of interesting 'new' Citations which were making their first visits into Central Queensland.

Victoria based Cessna 525A CitationJet CJ2 VH-VPM visited Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) Airport from the Gold Coast.  It then departed the Gold Coast for Albury and then its Melbourne (Essendon) base.  This is the first visit of VH-VPM to CQ!

Execujet Australia Bombardier CL-600-2B16 Challenger 604 bizjet VH-VSZ visited Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) Airport again from Sydney.

And Victoria based Cessna 525A CitationJet CJ2 VH-SWI (ex VH-MOR) looked to arrive into Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) Airport from Warrnambool, Hobart and Emerald Airports.  It then returned to its Warrnambool base.

Of interest, until March 2021, VH-SWI was previously registered VH-MOR and was a frequent visitor to Central Queensland!  This is the first visit of the Citation as VH-SWI into CQ!

While over on Hamilton Island, Poolhurst Aviation Air Charter Services Pilatus PC-24 jet VH-VTF arrived into Hamilton Island Airport from Sydney before later departing to Archerfield.

Air Gold Coast Cessna 525 Citation CJ1 bizjet VH-CDG finally departed Hamilton Island Airport for the Gold Coast.  It had arrived from there last Sunday 26 June.

And New South Wales-based Mooney M20J VH-SOM flew up from its Armidale base to Bundaberg and then Hamilton Island Airport.

UPDATE!  On Monday 4 July, VH-SOM departed Hamilton Island Airport for Hughenden, Tennant Creek and Darwin.

Finally, also on Sunday 3 July, Kirkhope Aviation (Victoria) Piper PA-31 Navajo VH-HXN departed Longreach Airport for Charleville Airport but ended up diverting to Cunnamulla.  It had arrived there on Friday 1 July.

UPDATE!  On Tuesday 5 July, it looked like the closed tourist charter may have come to an end with VH-HXN noted returning to Melbourne (Moorabbin).
