RAAF and Australian Army Aircraft and Helicopters Land and Complete Airwork at Whitsundays Airports - Plus More!

On Wednesday 13 July, Australian Army NH Industries MRH-90 Multi-Role Helicopter A40-034 was noted completing airwork at a couple Whitsundays Airports.

It was flying as "Destrier 124" and looked to fly around Bowen, Hamilton Island and Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) Airports while on a flight out of and back to Townsville.

Also noted completing airwork at Hamilton Island Airport, also on Wednesday 13 July, was Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Lockheed C-130J-30 Hercules transport aircraft A97-467.  It was flying down from Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea and completed a missed approach at Hamilton Island Airport before then continuing down to RAAF Base Richmond.  A97-467 was flying as "Ausy 665".

And RAAF Beech B350 Super King Air A32-998 as "Torch49" looked to visit Hamilton Island Airport from Cairns.

As mentioned below, fellow RAAF Super King Air A32-021 is also currently flying out of Cairns on flights around North and Central Queensland.

Finally, also on Wednesday 13 July, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Alenia C-27J Spartan transport aircraft A34-002 as "Wallaby 34" was noted completing airwork at Miles Aerodrome while on a flight out of and back to RAAF Base Amberley.
