ATSB Also Investigating Potential Fuel Exhaustion of Air Whitsundays Beaver VH-AWI

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) has also commenced an investigation into a potential fuel exhaustion event involving Air Whitsunday's De Havilland DHC-2 Mk1 Beaver Float Plane VH-AWI near Shute Harbour on Saturday 2 August.

"The pilot reported that after landing it was determined that the aircraft had less than the required minimum fuel on board," as reported by the ATSB.

As part of the investigation, the ATSB will interview the company and the pilot.  A report will be released within several months.
