Australian Army (RAN Marked) MRH-90 Helicopter A40-019 Calls into Rockhampton Airport

Local plane spotter 'IAD' called into Rockhampton Airport on Thursday 28 August and was on hand to capture some photos of NH Industries MRH-90 helicopter A40-019.

The MRH-90 was ferrying north to Townsville where that type is replacing the Sikorsky S-70A-9 Blackhawk helicopter with operations with the Australian Army's 5th Aviation Regiment .

It was interesting to note that A40-019 wears Royal Australian Navy (RAN) titles.  It was heard to be using  the radio callsign of "Destria 19" - which is reportedly now being utilised by the 5th Aviation Regiment in Townsville.
