Local plane spotters Anthony S and Michael F both ventured to Gladstone Airport at different times on Wednesday 6 August, and managed to capture some great photos of some of the comings and goings.
QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 VH-QOF departed shortly before dawn for Moranbah after arriving at Gladstone the previous evening from Sydney on the Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) charter flight. It then operated another FIFO flight from Moranbah to Brisbane.
Fellow QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 Next Gen VH-QOB was then captured departing Gladstone to Brisbane as QLK2331.
And making a trio of early morning departures, Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (VARA) ATR 72-500 VH-FVL also departed to Brisbane but as VOZ1708.
Later on Wednesday 6 August, Michael popped out to Gladstone Airport to capture some photos of Corporate Air / Vee H Aviation Cessna 441 VH-VEH as it performed aerial survey flights over the industrial city for CASA - see Blog post below.
Michael also managed to capture a trio of interesting visitors to Gladstone Airport including Aeropower McDonnell Douglas Helicopter Company (MDHC) 369E VH-SUV.
Brisbane-based Cirrus SR22 VH-YDM was spotted. It arrived earlier in the week and later departed to Archerfield.
Sunshine Coast-based Piper PA-24-260 VH-PKZ was also captured resting on the General Aviation (GA) Apron.
QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200 VH-NXN was then captured by Michael as it touched down from Brisbane as QJE1708.
Finally, locally-based Air Charter CQ / Australia by Seaplane De Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver Mk1 Floatplane VH-IDO has returned to Gladstone Airport from scheduled maintenance believed to be in Mackay.
