A Few More Plane Spotting Photos from Gladstone Airport on Wednesday

Local plane spotters Anthony S and Michael F both ventured to Gladstone Airport at different times on Wednesday 6 August, and managed to capture some great photos of some of the comings and goings.

QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 VH-QOF departed shortly before dawn for Moranbah after arriving at Gladstone the previous evening from Sydney on the Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) charter flight.  It then operated another FIFO flight from Moranbah to Brisbane.

Fellow QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 Next Gen VH-QOB was then captured departing Gladstone to Brisbane as QLK2331.

And making a trio of early morning departures, Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (VARA) ATR 72-500 VH-FVL also departed to Brisbane but as VOZ1708.

Later on Wednesday 6 August, Michael popped out to Gladstone Airport to capture some photos of Corporate Air / Vee H Aviation Cessna 441 VH-VEH as it performed aerial survey flights over the industrial city for CASA - see Blog post below.

Michael also managed to capture a trio of interesting visitors to Gladstone Airport including Aeropower McDonnell Douglas Helicopter Company (MDHC) 369E VH-SUV.

Brisbane-based Cirrus SR22 VH-YDM was spotted.  It arrived earlier in the week and later departed to Archerfield.

Sunshine Coast-based Piper PA-24-260 VH-PKZ was also captured resting on the General Aviation (GA) Apron.

QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200 VH-NXN was then captured by Michael as it touched down from Brisbane as QJE1708.

Finally, locally-based Air Charter CQ / Australia by Seaplane De Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver Mk1 Floatplane VH-IDO has returned to Gladstone Airport from scheduled maintenance believed to be in Mackay.

Some great photos from Anthony and Michael, and we sincerely thank them for allowing us to share them with you!
