Sixth Australian Army Blackhawk Helicopter Spotted in CQ - Rockhampton Airport Tuesday

Local plane spotter Kayanne H was at the right place and the right time on Tuesday 26 August to capture some great photos of the sixth Australian Army Sikorsky S-70A-9 Blackhawk Helicopter to pass through Central Queensland over the last week or so.

Like the others, A25-111 was heading South from Townsville where, as mentioned below, the Army's Townsville-based Blackhawks flown by 5th Aviation Regiment are moving to a new posting with the 6th Aviation Regiment in Sydney.  Six have so far ferried South over the last couple of days.

Of interest, A25-111 was using the radio callsign of "Spartan 111".  This is believed to be the callsign of the 171 Squadron at Holsworthy Army Base in New South Wales.

Also, Kayanne has sent through some more great images from last Thursday 21 August of fellow Blackhawk helicopters A25-103 and A25-108 which called into Rocky from Townsville and continued South.

Sincere thanks to Kayanne for capturing and sending these great photos through!
