RAAF Challenger A37-001 - Citation Bizjet VH-KXM - And a lot More - At Longreach Airport This Week

Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Canadair CL-600-2B16 Challenger 604 bizjet A37-001 was spotted on the ground at Longreach Airport on Thursday 14 August.

It's flight details are not known, but research shows that it has been getting around using the radio callsign of "Envoy 56".

Another bizjet to call into Longreach on Thursday 14 August was Gulf Coast Aviation Cessna 510 Citation Mustang VH-KXM which called in again while heading North to Vanrook Station.  On this occasion, it arrived from Mittagong in New South Wales.

Meanwhile, over the course of the week, there has also been several interesting General Aviation (GA) visitors to call into Longreach.

Also on Thursday 14 August, Cessna 441 VH-OPM called in heading South to its Warrnambool base in Victoria.  It also passed through Longreach heading North to Cooktown in far North Queensland on Monday 11 August.  And departing Longreach for Emerald also on Thursday was Vanderfield Pilatus PC-12/47 VH-WPH, which actually arrived on Wednesday 13 August.

There were another two other PC-12s to call into Longreach on Wednesday 13 August with Brisbane-based Pilatus PC-12/47E VH-AAD popping in - it has been quite busy this week also calling into Emerald and Surat Airports (amongst other places) - along with Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Pilatus PC-12/45 VH-FDC ("FlyDoc 426").

On Monday 11 August, fellow RFDS Raytheon B200 VH-FDZ ("FlyDoc458") called in, along with another King Air in the form of Dick Lang's Dessert-Air Safaris' Beech B200 VH-ODI which arrived from Normanton and departed to Leigh Creek in South Australia.


Finally, some of the wide variety of other GA aircraft to call in have included Gippsland Aeronautics GA-8 Airvan VH-LHC on delivery to the Northern Territory, Bundaberg-based Cessna 182 VH-SHY, New South Wales-based Cessna LC41-550FG VH-CSV, Van's RV-7A VH-MSL, Melbourne-based Cessna 310Q VH-HMO, Brendle Downs Station Cessna 337F VH-VBD, Wagga Wagga based SOCATA TBM-850 VH-PVM, Gold Coast-based Beech V35B VH-ILT, and Cloncurry-based Hawker Beechcraft C90GTi King Air VH-JJU.
