The Old and New at Mackay Airport - Beech 65 VH-FDV and Bell 429 Helicopter VH-MJI

A couple of surprise and notable arrivals into Mackay Airport on Monday 18 August included 1966-build Beech 65 Queen Air VH-FDV.

The former Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) machine arrived from Caloundra where it seems to be based.

Then later on Monday 18 August, 2012-build Bell 429 'Global Ranger' helicopter VH-MJI touched down from Rockhampton.

The chopper appears to be in town to demonstrate to Mackay Helicopters, with information suggesting that it will be conducting local flights on Tuesday 19 August.

Finally, it's worth mentioning that locally-based Raytheon 390 Premier 1 bizjet N7088S returned home to Mackay from Bankstown on Monday 18 August.  It had previously departed Mackay for Brisbane on Thursday 14 August, and continued further South to Bankstown on Friday 15 August.
