While trawling through the Internet recently, I discovered that Roma-based The Western Star newspaper recently reported that JetGo Australia is in negotiations with the local Maranoa Regional Council to set up flights between Roma Airport and Sydney.
The reports suggests that JetGo could be flying the new route before Summer in response to rapid passenger growth experienced by Roma Airport over recent months.
Earlier this year though, Skytrans launched flights between Roma Airport and Toowoomba with their Dash-8-300 aircraft, however these were scrapped only a few months after their launch.
Meanwhile, CH-Aviation - "The World's leading Airline Intelligence Provider since 1998" - reported last month via SkyWorld Aviation that JetGo will lease three Embraer ERJ-140LR aircraft from US operator, Republic Airlines. The aircraft in question - N297SK (cn 145522), N295SK (cn 145513) and N371SK (cn 145535) - are configured with 44 Economy class seats and due to be delivered in August, September and October this year.
JetGo Australia currently operates three Embraer ERJ-135s - VH-JTG, VH-JGB and VH-JZG - with one ERJ-145 on order.
