Singapore Armed Force's Exercise Wallaby 2014 - Set to Start in mid-September at Rockhampton Airport

The 2014 installment of the Singapore Armed Force's Military Exercise Wallaby is set to begin on Monday 15 September.

Again, the focus will be on Rockhampton Airport which will this year play host to Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Aerospatiale / Eurocopter AS332M Super Puma,  Boeing CH-47SD Chinook and Boeing AH-64D Apache helicopters.  The helicopters will be making regular flights to the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA).

It is also believed that RSAF Lockheed C-130H Hercules transport aircraft will also provide support out of Rocky Airport.

There will also be the usual heavy-jet charter flights in and out of Rockhampton Airport near the start and finish of, and possibly during the Exercise, with Singapore Airlines Boeing B777 aircraft expected to operate the majority of the troop charters.  There could also an Air New Zealand B777 visiting as well at some point.

There are also rumours floating around of two arrivals from the giant Antonov transport plane around Friday 5 September or Saturday 6 September and again around Tuesday 9 September, bring some of the RSAF helicopters into Rockhampton Airport.
