As we mentioned below, local plane spotter Micah S ventured to Bundaberg Airport this week on Tuesday 19 August to capture some photos of the visiting JetGo Australia Embraer E-135 VH-JTG - see post HERE.
But while he was there, Micah also captured some great photos of a couple of other great visitors into the Rum City on Tuesday afternoon. Perhaps the most interesting of these was New Guinea-based Pacific Helicopters Bell 206L-3 LongRanger III P2-PBD.
Sadly, its exact movements are not known, however research reveals that it ferried South about this time last year so could be heading back to Papua New Guinea (PNG).
Micah also captured some great photos of a familiar sight in CQ in the form of Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Hawker Beechcraft B200 King Air VH-FDI. On this occasion VH-FDI - "FlyDoc 467" flew in from its Rockhampton base.
And finally on Tuesday 19 August, one of the more familiar visitors to Bundaberg - along with several other Fraser Coast Airports - is Seair Cessna 208 Caravan VH-LMZ, which was captured by Micah presumably after arriving from nearby Lady Elliot Island.
Seair runs several daily flights to Lady Elliot from its Gold Coast base via Bundaberg. Seair Caravans - VH-LMZ, VH-LMD, VH-LYT and VH-VCW - also call into other Airports in the region then flying onward to (mostly) Middlemount on Fly-in Fly-out charter flights.
On Thursday 21 August, the Queensland Government Airwing (State of Queensland) Raytheon Hawker 850XP bizjet VH-SGY called back into Bundaberg from Brisbane, and later departed to Rockhampton.
Certainly a great afternoon of plane spotting at Bundaberg on Tuesday - and certainly a great week of plane spotting action in Central Queensland! Sincere thanks to Micah for his contribution of these fantastic photos!
