A Couple of Corporate Air / Vee H Aviation SAAB 340B FIFO Charter Flights Around CQ Airports - Plus More!

Early on Wednesday 6 February, it was interesting to notice a couple of Corporate Air  / Vee H Aviation SAAB 340B turboprop aircraft operating what appeared to be closed Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) charter flights.

It appeared that SAAB 340B VH-VEP completed a return flight from Brisbane to Theodore Aerodrome and back.

It's also worth mentioning that later on Wednesday 6 February, Brisbane-based Beech B200 King Air VH-ISS also flew into Theodore Aerodrome from Archerfield and Brisbane and appears to be staying for the night.

While up at Middlemount Aerodrome, also on Wednesday 6 February, Corporate Air SAAB 340B VH-VEF was noted departing to Brisbane.  It looked to arrive from the capital late on Tuesday 5 February.

Meanwhile, also at Middlemount Aerodrome, Hevilift Australia (Fixed Wing Division) ATR 72-500s VH-FVM and VH-FVH operated the twice weekly FIFO charter flights from and back to Brisbane with VH-FVM operating as HT771/2 on Wednesday 6 February and VH-FVH operating as HT773/4 late on Tuesday 5 February.

Of interest, late on Wednesday 5 February, Hevilift Australia (Fixed Wing Division) ATR 42-320 VH-YWH was note flying all the way from Brisbane to The Monument (Phosphate Hill) Airport.  It looks possible that fellow Hevilift De Havilland DHC-6-300 Twin Otter VH-YWJ which normally operates to there from and back to Mount Isa may have gone unserviceable.

Finally, a couple of smaller Super King Air turboprop visitors possibly also operating closed FIFO charter flights into various CQ Airports also on Wednesday 6 February, included Brescon P/L Beech B200 King Air VH-WXB flying into Injune Aerodrome from and back to the Toowoomba-Wellcamp Airport.  It is due to complete two more return flights on Thursday 7 February.

Of interest, last Thursday 31 January, VH-WXB was joined by fellow Brescon King Air VH-WXN, as well as Austrek Aviation Beech B200 King Air VH-WXO, in flying between both Toowoomba and Wellcamp Airports and Injune Aerodrome.

While early in Wednesday 6 February, FKG Air (Redjet Aviation) Hawker Beechcraft B200GT VH-FKB flew into Charters Towers Aerodrome Toowoomba and Archerfield.  In the early afternoon, VH-FKB then departed Charter Towers for Clermont Aerodrome where it took on fuel.

VH-FKB then departed to Archerfield before returning to its Toowoomba base.
