A Few Interesting Aircraft Spotted at Gladstone Airport This Week - Citation CJ2 Bizjet VH-RJB and Alliance Airlines Fokker 70 VH-JFB and More!

Another busy week at Gladstone Airport with the usual variety of aircraft calling in to the port city.

On Friday 26 July, Alliance Airlines Fokker F-70 VH-JFB made another visit, operating a presumably a Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) charter flight from and back to Brisbane as UTY664/667.

Local plane spotter Michael F ventured to the Airport and captured some absolutely magnificent late afternoon photos of the Fokker 70, and of the regular scheduled commercial visitors to Gladstone late on Friday 26 July, including Virgin Australia Regional Airlines ATR 72-500's VH-FVU and VH-FVX.

Michael also captured some stunning images of QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200 VH-NXE as it touched down from Brisbane as QJE1714.

Currently operating out of Gladstone Airport is HeliReef / Aviation Tourism Australia Bell 206 VH-CKU, which Michael also captured late on Friday 26 July.

Ergon Energy’s Remote Observation Automated Modelling Economic Simulation (ROAMES) project of aerial surveys has brought Australasian Jet-operated Cessna 206 VH-FEN to Gladstone this week.  VH-FEN is one of two Cessnas currently operating the aerial surveys.

Noted at Gladstone Airport on Thursday 25 July was Edwards Coaches Cessna 525 Citation CJ2 bizjet VH-RJB, which arrived from Dalby and later departed to Canberra.

There were also a couple of Partenavia P.68 aircraft to visit Gladstone on Thursday with Mackay-based Aviation Enterprises VH-DBF calling in, along with Rockhampton-based Atlass Aviation Vulcanair (Partenavia) P.68C VH-CFT, which was noted taking on fuel before conducting airwork over Theodore.

Lastly, there seems to a regular pattern developing of Virgin Australia jet services to and from Gladstone, with every evening flight this week operated by an Embraer E-190 jet.  On Wednesday 24 July, Michael captured a couple of lovely photos of E-190 VH-ZPH departing the port city as VOZ1716.

Incidentally, this was the first visit to Gladstone by VH-ZPH, and we thank Michael sincerely for capturing some great images of it and all the aircraft action at Gladstone Airport this week!  They are certainly great photos!  Thanks mate!
