Around lunchtime, and after a quiet morning, the action at Rockhampton Airport started to fire up on Friday 19 July with the spectacular sight of a Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing B737-7ES / E-7A Wedgetail Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) aircraft performing a missed approach.
Local plane spotter, 'IAD' captured some fantastic images of the Wedgetail - A30-004 - as it performed a missed approach onto Rockhampton Airport's Runway 15. It was heard to be using the callsign "Wedgetail 7".
