Yet More Virgin Australia Embraer E-190 Jets Touch Down at Gladstone Airport

Friday 5 July saw a record four Virgin Australia Embraer E-190 jets touching down at Gladstone Airport on scheduled services into the port city from Brisbane.

First to touch down was E-190 VH-ZPN which arrived from Brisbane as VOZ1709.  It later departed as VOZ1712.

Then as it departed, fellow E-190 VH-ZPJ was spotted arriving as VOZ1711.  It departed later as VOZ1714.

Later in the day, E-190 VH-ZPB arrived as VOZ1713.  It departed as VOZ1720.

It should also be mentioned that VH-ZPB also operated the VOZ1717/1716 rotation the previous day, Thursday 4 July.

Then lastly on Friday 5 July, E-190 VH-ZPM - which wears the colours of 'Pacfiic Blue' arrived from and later departed back to Brisbane as VOZ1717/1716.

It's been a busy week at Gladstone Airport this week with a total of nine Virgin Australia Embraer E-190 jet services, on top of the 'regular' scheduled Virgin Australia Regional Airlines ATR turbo-prop services from and back to Brisbane.  Of course, QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200 jet services and QantasLink Dash-8 services continue to operateeach day.

In fact, sources indicate that there were as many as 18 various commercial departures during Friday.

Thanks to Gladstone plane spotters Michael F, Jamie C and Tash C for capturing the record-breaking action!
