A New Look and a New Website for the Rockhampton Aero Club - Plus Flying Competition at Emu Park Airfield This Sunday!

While I was in Rockhampton recently, I spotted a new advertising billboard that had been installed on the front of the Rockhampton Aero Club (RAC) building at Rockhampton Airport.

To coincide with the 'new look' advertising billboard, the Rockhampton Aero Club has also launched a re-vamped website - check it out at http://www.rockhamptonaeroclub.org.au/ .

Meanwhile, interested local aviators are reminded that the Rockhampton Aero Club Flying Competition will be held this Sunday 28 July at the Emu Park Airfield.  The action is due to kick off at 9.30am.

An instructor will go with you as you take-off from the airport, fly a circuit back around to overhead the airfield and after a person on the ground releases a balloon, you try your best to pop it with the propeller. You then complete another circuit and drop a flour bomb as close as you can to a target on the ground, then finally complete one more circuit and land as close to a line across the runway as you possibly can.

The Competition is open to everyone - even if you have never flown a plane before - an instructor will be with you and will of course assist.

Don’t miss a great opportunity to fly a plane, who knows you may even win the comp!!
