Gladstone Airport on Monday and Tuesday

With thanks to Jamie C comes a few pictures from an even busier Gladstone Airport this week.

Firstly, additional Regular Passenger Transport (RPT) services to Gladstone have commenced this week. As mentioned in some recent Blog posts, Virgin Australia commenced an additional ATR 72-500 service which arrived mid-morning. In fact, on Monday 28 May, four of the five current Skywest Airlines-operated ATR 72s passed through Gladstone - VH-FVL is pictured below.

It was also noted on Monday 28 May that QantasLink now have two Cobham Aviation-operated Boeing B717-200 aircraft based in Brisbane to operate their recently launched jet services to Gladstone, as well as Rockhampton and Mackay. Unfortunately for spotters, VH-NXN rejoined VH-NXQ - these are presently the only two B717-200s that have graced the skies in Central Queensland - as shown in these file photos below.

Photographed by Jamie at Gladstone Airport on Monday 28 May was Seair Cessna 208 Caravan VH-LYT. This Caravan seemed to fly in close quarters with sister-ship VH-LMZ on Monday, and both Caravans were also noted at Moranbah Airport on Monday 28 May.

Later, another Cessna 208 Caravan popped into Gladstone Airport in the form of the Queesland Police Service Airwing's VH-PSQ.  It is due to also visit Rockhampton and Mackay later in the week.

Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Hawker Beechcraft B200 King Air VH-FDI also arrived from Bundaberg and met a waiting ambulance.

Robinson R-44 VH-DQA of Forster Helicopters in Charters Towers was also spotted by Jamie.

Lastly, a surprise visitor to Gladstone Airport on Tuesday 29 May in the form of Walker Air Services Bombardier BD-700-1A10 Global Express VH-LAW.
