Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing B737-7ES / E-7A Wedgetail A30-006 Completes Airwork at CQ Airports

On Thursday 22 October, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing B737-7ES / E-7A Wedgetail Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) aircraft A30-006 was noted completing airwork at Central Queensland Airports during two separate visits.

It initially flew up from RAAF Base Williamtown as "Wedgetail 20" to Mackay Airport where it completed airwork.  A30-006 then flew South to Williamtown but via Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport where it completed a missed approach.

During the afternoon, A30-006, now as "Wedgetail 23" returned to CQ, flying up again from Williamtown via a missed approach at the Gold Coast to Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport where it completed another missed approach.

A30-006 then returned to Williamtown via another missed approach but at Coffs Harbour.

Meanwhile, also on Thursday 22 October, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing B737-7DT(BBJ) A36-001 was noted completing a missed approach at Rockhampton Airport.  It flew up from and later returned to its Canberra base.
