Skydive Airlie Beach Gippsland GA-8 Airvan Returns to the Whitsunday Airport (WAVE)

I noted this week - on Thursday 2 October - that Skydive Airlie Beach Gippsland GA-8 Airvan VH-RTS flew from Coffs Harbour to Bundaberg and on to the Whitsunday Airport at Shute Harbour. It is presumed that VH-RTS has been away from home undergoing maintenance.

I also note that VH-RTS has undergone a change of owner, now registered to 'Skydive The Beach and Beyond Sydney / Wollongong'.

In the meantime, while VH-RTS was away, it appears that Skydive Airlie Beach has been utilising Skydive Oz Cessna 182 VH-OZP (which I captured at Rockhampton Airport last month while it was in town operating parachute drops from Emu Park Airstrip).

Also of interest, I've noted that a pair of Cairns-based aircraft have called into the Whitsunday Airport at Shute Harbour over recent days including Cirrus SR22 VH-WJB and Mooney M20J VH-CVB.  And two of the more interesting corporate visitors into Shute Harbour have been Alizzi Aviation Beech B200 King Air VH-ZOS, which popped in from the Sunshine Coast over last weekend, and also Cloncurry-based Pilatus PC-12/47E VH-MDH.

Finally, with local operator GSL Aviation recently opening an office at Cairns Airport - from where they also operate local scenic and general charter and passenger transfer flights - there has been a lot of flights by GSL's various aircraft to and from the tropical North.
