A Couple of Maintenance Issues Causing Delays at Central Queensland Airports

As reported, last Sunday 12 October, QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200 VH-NXH departed Brisbane operating as QJE1766 to Mackay.  But about one-third of the way into its journey, VH-NXH turned back to Brisbane with an engineering issue.  Fellow B717-200 VH-NXJ operated a delayed QJE1766 later on Sunday.

But over the last couple of days, there has been a couple of other issues with flights into CQ Airports.

On Saturday 11 October, Virgin Australia Boeing B737-800 VH-YIV departed Brisbane as VOZ1117 for the Proserpine / Whitsunday Coast Airport.  It also had maintenance issues and also returned to Brisbane.  VH-YIV then departed Brisbane - again as VOZ1117 for Proserpine - nearly two-hours later.

Finally, Jetstar Airways Airbus A320 VH-VFF flew into Hamilton Island from Melbourne (Tullamarine) as JST860 on Monday 13 October.  It seemingly then broke down and did not depart.

Instead, fellow Jetstar A320 VH-VGA positioned from Cairns into Hamo as JST7983 and then later departed to Melbourne as the delayed JST863.

VH-VFF ended up departing Hamilton Island for Cairns on Tuesday 14 October as JST7984.  It then departed Cairns for Perth later in the day, resuming normal Jetstar services.
