TRIP REPORT – Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) to Sydney – Friday 19 September – Virgin Australia Airlines – VOZ1556 – Embraer E-190 – VH-ZPA.
Before he departed the nearby-to-Bundaberg, Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport, he captured some nice photos of QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 Next Gen VH-LQL departing to Brisbane as QLK2377.
Soon after, Virgin Australia Embraer E-190 VH-ZPA touched down to take Micah to Sydney as VOZ1556. He boarded through the front stairs and took his seat on the left-hand side of the plane.
Micah was able to capture some great photos of Sydney city, and then once on the ground at Sydney Airport, he captured some photos around the Virgin Australia terminal.
While in Sydney, Micah spent an hour in a Boeing 737NG simulator with Flight Experience.
"A truly awesome experience" is how Micah described his time in the simulator. He explains that he even made a landing into the old Hong Kong (Kai Tak) Airport! The simulator is the real deal. it's certified for instrument training! The simulator is in the Harbour Side shopping centre at Darling Harbour and if readers happen to be in Sydney, it is highly recommend by Micah.
The their website (http://sydney.flightexperience.com.au/) Flight Experience "uses a Boeing 737NG flight simulator which gives customers the opportunity to experience flying a modern jet airliner from the Captain’s seat, with the aid of a Qualified Instructor. It is about as close as it gets to the real thing".
TRIP REPORT – Sydney to Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) – Tuesday 23 September – Virgin Australia Airlines – VOZ1555 – Embraer E-190 – VH-ZPD.
After spending a couple of days in Sydney, Micah returned to Hervey Bay on Virgin Australia Embraer E-190 VH-ZPD. While he waiting for his flight he did a bit of plane spotting from the Virgin terminal. He managed to capture some great photos of a couple international flights to Sydney including a Cebu Pacific Air A330 operating from Manila to Sydney on their recently launched services.
VH-ZPD taxied 'the long way' out to Sydney's Runway 34L (34 Left) and was in-line for departure North.
What a great few days away!
Sincere thanks to Micah for sharing with us his thoughts and great photos from his trip to Sydney. Thanks too to Micah for his continued support of the Central Queensland Plane Spotting Blog.
