Re-painted Virgin Australia and QantasLink Aircraft Call into Central Queensland Airports

Virgin Australia Boeing B737-800 VH-VUE has made its first visit into Central Queensland since it has been re-painted into the new Virgin colour scheme.  It called into Mackay Airport late on Sunday 12 October as VOZ621 from Brisbane.  After staying the night, VH-VUE - now wearing the name "Curl Curl Beach" - departed back to Brisbane as VOZ600.  I captured VH-VUE on approach to Townsville Airport late last week.

Another Virgin Australia aircraft to recently be re-painted - Embraer E-190 VH-ZPL - made its first visit into CQ touching down at Proserpine / Whitsunday Coast Airport early on Tuesday 14 October as VOZ1113 from Brisbane.  It only returned from overseas on Sunday.

Fellow E-190 VH-ZPM has departed for overseas where it also be re-painted out of its red Pacific Blue livery.  Reports suggest that this could be the final aircraft to wear this livery and will mean this livery will no longer be seen in Australian (and New Zealand) skies.

Of interest, the final service VH-ZPM operated in its Pacific Blue livery was on Sunday 12 October when it flew into Rockhampton from Brisbane and back as VOZ1249/1252.

Finally, QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200 VH-NXD which has recently been re-painted into the new Qantas colour scheme in Townsville, continues to operate into CQ, flying three return services into Gladstone from and back to Brisbane on Tuesday 14 October.
