Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Boeing KC-135R Stratotanker '752' at Darwin Airport

Strictly not a post about Central Queensland, but Darwin plane spotter Sid M has kindly allowed us to share a couple of his great photos of Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Boeing KC-135R Stratotanker '752' which is currently based in the top end and seemingly conducting training flights out of Darwin.

I thought it rather topical as elements of the RSAF are currently based at Rockhampton participating in Exercise Wallaby 2014, and we featured the only visit of an RSAF KC-135R Stratotanker to Rockhampton in November 2005 in this month's Historic Spot - link HERE.

Sid has reported that '752' has spent at least two days over the last couple of weeks conducting numerous Instrument Landing System (ILS) approaches, followed by a missed approach to do the ILS approach again.

'752' initially positioned to Darwin from overseas last week and has been heard to be using the callsign "Twister" as it conducts its training flights around Darwin.

Sincere thanks to Sid for allowing us to share his great photos from the top end!
